What are the benefits of chemical peel?<\/b><\/p>\n

A peel is used to increase collagen and improve the appearance of dull and uneven skin tone and texture. \u00a0They can treat fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots and sun damage, discoloration, large pores and skin roughness. <\/span><\/p>\n

What should I expect with this treatment?<\/b><\/p>\n

There are different levels of peels, the simplest peel is a superficial resurfacing which can produce a new, smother layer of skin with improved texture. There is nothing to actually \u201cpeel off\u201d during a facial peel, rather a chemical solution is applied to the face and works by dissolving the outer most layer of skin. The depth and strength of the peel is based upon the chemicals used and the amount of time the solution is applied. \u00a0The strength of the peel used will determine the outcome and downtime. <\/span><\/p>\n

What should I expect post treatment? <\/b><\/p>\n

With a light peel, there is no down time and patients are encouraged to maintain a good skin care regimen that contains SPF. \u00a0With a stronger peel, patients are instructed to not use makeup for 24 hours. \u00a0They will experience pink\/red skin for those first 24 hours that will transition to peeling within 24-48 hours. \u00a0By removing old, dry skin we allow new cell growth to occur. This allows for better absorption of topical products and creates a more youthful appearance.<\/span>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

What is the difference between a peel and microdermabrasion?<\/b><\/p>\n

The difference between a peel and microdermabrasion is that one procedure uses a chemical solution to exfoliate the skin and the other uses a mechanical method to rejuvenate and exfoliate. \u00a0\u00a0A light peel may be combined with a microdermabrasion treatment for optimum results.<\/span>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
