A f<\/span>at transfer to the breast can be done to enhance volume or correct a contour deformity. Fat transfer is the process of removing fat from one area of the body and transferring it to another area by harvesting fat using a liposuction technique. The transfer of fat is done using small cannulas to the designated site. With any fat transfer, a patient needs to be well educated on the possibility of fat reabsorption and the chance they would need a touch-up procedure to achieve their desired results.<\/span><\/p>\n

How do I prepare for a fat\u00a0transfer to the breast?<\/b><\/h2>\n

The use of Aspirin, Ibuprofen, or other supplements that may increase bruising should be stopped two weeks prior to surgery.<\/span><\/p>\n

Surgery<\/b>: This procedure can be done under local, sedation or general anesthesia depending on the amount of fat to be transferred. Fat transfers are done as an outpatient procedure and surgical time is approximately 1-1 \u00bd hours.<\/span><\/p>\n

After Surgery<\/b>: Patients are discharged home with a light dressing and post-op compression bra. The bra will be worn for approximately 2-3 weeks. Most patients may return to work in 3-5 days and resume exercise in 3 weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n
