A <\/span>Lower Body Lift<\/b>, also known as a Belt Lipectomy, transforms the mid and lower body by removing excess skin and fat from the abdomen, hips, outer thighs and buttock. This procedure commonly consists of a tummy tuck<\/a> combined with a buttock lift<\/a> and is usually done to correct the effects of massive weight loss. This one-stage procedure can significantly recontour the trunk and lower body, which allows for improved shape and clothing options.<\/span><\/p>\n

How do I prepare for a Lower Body Lift<\/b>?<\/span><\/h2>\n

In your initial consultation with Dr. Antimarino, make sure to discuss your expectations for the procedure. This is the time to discuss your concerns and your goals as he will design a surgical plan specifically for you. <\/span>You may want to come in with a list of questions that you want to be answered before the procedure. This will eliminate any confusion and will provide you with the most comfortable experience at Bellissimo Plastic Surgery & Medi Spa.<\/span><\/p>\n

The use of Aspirin, Ibuprofen, or other supplements that may increase bruising should be stopped two weeks prior to surgery.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lastly, you will also want to read through our patient resources, such as our note of privacy policies and surgeon checklist, to better educate yourself about the entire surgical process.<\/span><\/p>\n

Surgery<\/b>: A lower body lift is done under general anesthesia and is done as an outpatient procedure in an accredited surgical facility. Surgery generally takes 4 hours. <\/span><\/p>\n

After Surgery<\/b>: Patients are discharged home wearing an abdominal binder and will have 2 surgical drains for the abdomen and 2 surgical drains for the buttocks. <\/span>Surgical drains are routinely used to remove expected post-surgical fluid. The drains are removed in approximately 2-3 weeks. The abdominal binder is worn for a minimum of 3 weeks and then as needed for comfort measures. Patients may return to work in 2-3 weeks and resume exercising in approximately 3 weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n
